Your Role With Us:

As a Breast Care Center Physician Associate at Salem Health, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive care to patients in both the outpatient clinic and hospital settings. Working under the direction of a supervising physician, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary health care team to deliver high-quality care, ensuring that each patient receives personalized, expert attention. In this role, you will manage a diverse range of cases, from initial consultations and diagnostic workups to post-procedure follow-ups. Your contributions will include hands-on patient care, patient education and participation in clinical research. This position offers a fulfilling blend of independent patient management and teamwork, allowing you to make a significant impact on the lives of patients navigating breast care and oncology services.

What You'll Do

  • Provide medical care customarily provided by an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to all patients who require such care, and shall perform such other duties as are requested by the Urgent Care & Occ. Med. Medical Director consistent with a Nurse Practitioner's position as an employee of Salem Health.
  • Devote full attention and effort to the practice of medicine for the benefit of Salem Health under the terms hereof. Provider shall fulfill daily work responsibilities as required by Salem Health. Hours of work shall be determined at the discretion of the Urgent Care & Occ. Med. Medical Director.
  • Consult with and respond to physicians, patients, third party administrators and representatives of third party payors concerning test, studies, patient certification or procedures performed by Nurse Practitioner.
  • Maintain proper clinical records and such other reports as may be required by Salem Health and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Fulfill and maintain necessary CME credits as required by state and federal regulatory agencies, licensing boards, or malpractice carriers.
  • Participate in quality assurance and utilization review programs established from time to time by Salem Health and shall participate in professional education programs as requested by Salem Health.
  • Provider shall, if requested by Salem Health, assist in the training of personnel of Salem Health and in supervising the work of Salem Health employees, consistent with personnel policies established by Salem Health.
  • Participate in office management tasks as requested and required by Salem Health pertaining to scope of practice and clinical quality.

Background/Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in urgent care or acute care setting
  • Maintenance of American Heart Association ACLS certification.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology preferred
