The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), a proud member of the UT System, is excited to announce an opening for a
part-time Spanish-English bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist. This unique role offers the opportunity to work in a forward-thinking, collaborative program with the
Dallas Independent School District (DISD), aimed at enhancing
speech, language, and literacy skills among preschool and elementary-aged children.
In addition to direct service, this program is designed to support the development of future professionals by recruiting and training graduate students in UT Dallas's Master's program in Communication Disorders, to eventually work in an urban school district such as
DISD.

Minimum Education and Experience |

Preferred Education and Experience |
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
A Master's degree in
Communication Disorders or
Speech-Language Pathology is preferred. Ideal candidates will be
bilingual in Spanish and have
experience working in public school settings, addressing a variety of communication disorders, and supervising graduate students in a Communication Disorders program. |

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and coordination of a collaborative project between Dallas ISD and The University of Texas at Dallas.
- Mentor and supervise graduate students in the provision of speech, language, and literacy interventions within DISD elementary schools.
- Oversee and assist with the evaluation and treatment of children with a variety of communication disorders.

Work Notice:
Work will be performed on-site and in person.
Requirements:
While
bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred, it is
not required for this position. Applicants
must hold a current Texas license to practice Speech-Language Pathology and possess a
valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP). Please note that
Clinical Fellows (CFs) are
not eligible for this role.
Availability is required
Monday through Thursday mornings, along with
one afternoon per week during the
UT Dallas academic year. Scheduling is
flexible during summer and academic breaks. |
