Telecommunications Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Specialist to serve as the service owner/manager for all configuration and change management activities related to voice, data, and video cabling infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of cable installation, repair, modification, and removal across all media types. This role ensures all physical infrastructure complies with applicable security, technical, and DoD/EMSEC standards, and supports mission-critical communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Serve as the designated service owner for cabling infrastructure, overseeing all configuration and change management processes, to include technical diagrams and schematics.

* Install, repair, modify, and remove voice, data, and broadcast cabling systems using various media types, including twisted pair, fiber optic, plenum, and coaxial.

* Ensure all installed cables adhere to DoD standard security requirements, proper labeling, color-coding protocols, and applicable transmission media separation standards.

* Implement and enforce TEMPEST, DoD, and EMSEC guidelines during all cabling operations.

* Update and maintain comprehensive network architecture drawings for all telecommunications and video surveillance systems, including IESS (Infrastructure Engineering Support Services), television, and security video systems.

* Deliver a complete and current set of drawings to the government no later than the 10th business day of each quarter. Drawings must be provided in electronic format via designated SharePoint or file services platform.

* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate infrastructure upgrades, site surveys, and service modifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

* Top Secret SCI Clearance.

* 5 years of experience in cabling infrastructure management, including installation and removal of various cabling types, preferable in a DoD/SCIF environment.

* Strong knowledge of telecommunications standards, DoD/EMSEC/TEMPEST compliance, and color-coding requirements.

* Proficiency in reading and developing network architecture drawings using tools such as AutoCAD or Visio.

* Familiarity with DoD or federal telecommunications environments preferred.

* Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time-sensitive deliverables.

* Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, mission-driven environment.

* Proficiency in MS Office/MS Teams/VISIO applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Industry certifications such as BICSI Technician, RCDD, or equivalent.

* Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) and government/military cabling guidelines.

* Experience with SharePoint-based document management and government file service platforms
