IT Asset Management Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Asset Management Specialist to support the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC) IT Asset Management (ITAM) program.

The chosen IT Asset Management specialist provides cradle-to grave-management and the technical competencies necessary to ensure total IT asset visibility and accountability for roughly 8000 discrete assets. Extensive experience with Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and/or ServiceNow is essential.

This role serves as the Inventory Control Monitor responsible for hardware and software asset accountability, lifecycle management, warehousing, reporting, and compliance in accordance with applicable DoD and USTC instructions. The ideal candidate will have experience managing IT inventories and be capable of executing a full range of asset tracking, documentation, and disposal duties within a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Primary IT asset management point of contact across the JECC, providing initial and recurring training, daily communications, process management, technical advice, and audit controls to Command/Directorate Asset Managers (C/DITAM) and Equipment Custodians (EC).

* Primary manager of JECC J6 IT asset storage facilities, to include warehouse storage facilities. Responsibilities include storage/warehouse access control, asset movement and transfer, organization and storage procedures and execution, and warehouse status reporting.

* Serve as Inventory Control Monitor for all IT hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance with USTCI 33-16, USTCI 23-2, DODI 5000.64, and AFMAN 17-1203.

* As the IT Asset Management Specialist, you must serve as champion for constantly improving ITAM data collection and delivery to the Government. Be proactive in alerting, engaging, and educating the larger IT Contractor Team and Command EC's to better ways of collecting inventory and consistently meeting deadlines.

* Maintain accurate and current asset records in government-specified systems; support lifecycle planning and warranty tracking.

* Conduct and support physical inventories; provide discrepancy reports within five business days of inventory completion.

* Maintain and update listings of Property Administrators (PAs) and Custodians; provide training and guidance to PAs and Custodians.

* Produce monthly inventory reports-including end-of-life projections and warranty status-within eight calendar days of month-end.

* Manage the staging, receipt, storage, and distribution of ITAM assets; coordinate with JECC J4 for asset logistics and disposal.

* Dispose of IT assets through DLA Disposition Services in accordance with JECC policies and federal regulations.

* Support the development of IT Asset Management and Life Cycle Management Plans and submit quarterly reports on asset status, configuration, and condition.

* Perform degaussing and media sanitization in compliance with DoD and USTC policy; log and track all wiping and destruction activities.

* Support incident reporting, including preparation of Reports of Survey and investigations of lost or damaged equipment.

* Collaborate with IT Financial Management, Procurement, and Event Management teams to set and monitor inventory thresholds.

* Create and maintain knowledge articles to document ITAM processes and assist users in requesting, returning, and disposing of assets.

* Provide monthly warehouse equipment inventory reports and conduct regular physical inventories, reporting discrepancies promptly.

Required Qualifications:

* Top Secret SCI clearance

* An Associate's Degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience.

* 5 years inventory control experience and proficiency using Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS)

* Experience in IT asset tracking, inventory control, logistics, or property management.

* Knowledge of DoD asset accountability standards and relevant regulatory instructions.

* Familiarity with IT asset lifecycle processes, inventory reporting tools, and warehousing procedures.

* Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Outlook, with a working knowledge of Word and SharePoint. ServiceNow, Project, PowerPoint, and Excel experience a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in a DoD or federal environment.

* Familiarity with USTCI and DODI 5000.64 compliance requirements.

* Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundations, or equivalent are a plus.

* ServiceNow experience.
