Responsibilities

The Client Advisor & Business Insurance Specialist manages a book of assigned Commercial Lines accounts. The job includes providing service to commercial clients and maintaining a high retention of customers. Client Advisor is responsible for detailed coverage analysis as well as consultation and coverage recommendations to clients. Build long-term relationships with clients, play a central role in introducing new insurance products, and maintain the suitability of existing insurance program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients.

Introduce and promote new products through communication with clients.

Increase the profitability of existing product lines by encouraging clients to use added-value services wherever possible.

Consult on the most effective coverage for a particular need.

Deliver good customer service by responding swiftly to queries and concerns from clients.

Communicate with colleagues & carrier representatives, to maintain knowledge of new and existing products, Online quoting along with current market conditions and competitors' products.

Ensure compliance with procedures of OneGroup by keeping up to date with all changes.

Negotiate with underwriters to amend policies where necessary in order to meet client demand.

Working knowledge and competency in use of Agency Management System (Applied Epic), Microsoft Office, and other software as required by position.

Technical proficiency with coverages and various types of insurance policies as appropriate.

Authorize binding of Commercial Lines coverage within authority granted by the carrier.

Participate in seminars and training for skill and knowledge development.

Perform other duties as required.

Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner.


Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education:

High School Diploma

All applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Professional Certifications/Licenses:

Property/Casualty License Required

Maintain Agent/Broker License through continuing education

Earn or maintain CISR Designation

Experience/Skills:

5 years Insurance Experience Required

Working knowledge of Agency Management Systems

Experience in the Applied Epic system is a plus but not required

Ability to use menu-driven software in addition to Microsoft office to include Outlook, Word and Excel programs

Knowledge of Acord forms

Self-motivated, ability to work independently and within a team

Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

An interest in meeting new people and relationship management skills

Display trustworthiness, integrity, sincerity and discretion

Good customer service skills

A results-driven approach to meet core responsibilities and deadlines

Attention to detail and accurate record keeping

The ability to develop and deliver innovative ideas

Excellent time management skills

Must possess a valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
