We are seeking a skilled and coachable tax application systems consultant to provide technical support and consultation for various tax applications and platforms. You will play a key role in maintaining and supporting key systems which are leveraged by the Firm's Tax Practice. The ideal candidate is passionate about IT,has a strong customer service focus,and enjoys mastering new technologies and solving problems.

Your role.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and assistance to resolve issues, field complex questions, and support the Firm's tax technology suite.
  • Provide consultation for Tax Practice staff and advise on how best to utilize technology tools and capabilities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Embrace emerging technology and change, develop expertise in new systems, and leverage your expertise to implement and support new technology within the Firm.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and technology needs for the Tax Practice and assist in selecting and implementing practical solutions.
  • Aid in implementation of new technology platforms, tools, and applications. Act as a resource for tax technology projects and perform testing for tax technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for tax technology solutions. Work collaboratively with members of the Tax Practice, members of Plante Moran's internal Technology Services Team, and vendors to support, maintain, update, and implement software solutions.
  • Prioritize work, balance competing demands, and work both independently and collaboratively with other members of the Technology Services Team to ensure technology platform initiatives and objectives are achieved and practice staff are supported.
  • Communicate professionally with staff over various methods including email, messaging, and phone/video calls.
  • Develop relationships with key staff and assist them in leveraging new technology.

The qualifications.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance/Accounting, or related major is preferred.
  • Experience providing technological support in an enterprise environment is preferred.
    • 2-3 years of combined technical and application support
    • 2-3 years of client service experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and resolve problems with little guidance. Ability to leverage existing knowledgebase to develop specialized knowledge and subject matter expertise in the tax technology space.
  • Strong internal client focus and ownership from initial contact through resolution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ability to provide accurate and detailed information to staff when resolving a problem or question.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to leverage team resources to achieve task and goals.
  • Ability to coach and mentor other staff.
  • Willingness to take ownership over solutions and processes and follow through on commitments.

Desiredproficiency in the following technical skills, including:

  • Experience with tax software applications and providing technical support.
    • Experience with CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Axcess Workflow, GoSystem Tax, FX Fixed Assets are a plus.
    • Experience providing support for web based/cloud-based software solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • This position requires up to 10% travel between Plante Moran offices.

This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.

We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some of these benefits vary based on the number of hours staff work per week. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. These standard offerings are effective on the first of the month following your start date. Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience is provided in accordance with applicable state requirement. Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO or IL. Please review theposition location for theapplicable geographic location.
