Position Summary: (General statements regarding the overall objective of the position) The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for gathering and validating all information required to process consumer loan requests, in accordance with credit union guidelines, for a wide range of consumer loan types including Auto, Boat, Motorcycle, RV, Lines of Credit, Personal, and Secured Loans. While simultaneously providing support to the consumer loan origination team(s) regarding documentation to move the loan request to closing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (List in order of importance the essential functions of the job and the approximate percentage of time spent on each of the activities; describe what must be accomplished, not how it must be done; include supervision or management responsibilities, quality and quantity standards, physical, mental, and perceptual functions of the job) Collects, substantiates, and validates accuracy of member information. Conducts a comprehensive final review of the loan in accordance with underwriting approval, and credit guidelines while validating data in all required systems. Reviews, analyzes and matches all loan information and documentation to the loan application and system(s) to ensure data integrity and certainty in preparation for closing/funding. Performs a review and examination of all required lien information to confirm accuracy, validity, and compliance for lien placement at time of closing. Obtains necessary lending approval when final terms are outside of original underwriting approval. Complies with established service level agreements and KPI's, explains document requests, decisions, and suggests the best method to finalize the loan transaction. Verifies documentation, to include but not limited to credit report, paystubs, W-2s, personal tax returns, business tax returns, bank statements, and titles. Effectively communicates and works in a team environment with other Consumer Loan Underwriters, Consumer Loan Processors, Consumer Loan Funders, and other team members. Supports all loan origination and servicing channels within the Lending Operations Department. Follows procedures, polices, and guidelines for all consumer loan types when gathering required information. Discusses document requests, approvals, and declinations with internal and external partners, as needed. Provides immediate feedback to the origination source with any corrective measures to be taken to meet underwriting approval. Requests and gathers all required documentation while ensuring an elevated level of customer service is provided. Accepts incoming calls, answers questions, and provides information related to loan underwriting, processing, closing and loan funding. Adheres to all auditing procedures designed to document the lending process and provide the proper checks and balances. Enthusiastically provides support for all credit union business lines aligned with TDECU values. Acts in closing capacity as back up, if needed. Hybrid Hub: On average, employees in this role report to a designated TDECU office location 4-6 daysper month.
