Position Summary

As a member of our Compensation team, you will be a subject matter expert in all aspects of compensation. You will work with the Compensation team, HR Operations teams to help deliver core processes and will work hard to ensure that the HR Business Partner teams are equipped with the tools to deliver to their clients and prioritize a high quality employee experience.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the various global compensation reviews and also have responsibility for leading and/or participating in a number of other compensation related projects and processes as they arise, including compensation policies, pay transparency and communications.

Candidates for this role should have a strong compensation analytics background as well as highly developed stakeholder management skills and excellent communication skills. The successful individual will enjoy frequent interaction with stakeholders across all levels of seniority but will also pursue high quality operational excellence using expert level excel understanding to maximum effect.

Deep knowledge of compensation practices across the Americas region is a given, but candidates will also be expected to have experience of working across other regions, so global experience will be vital. This is a highly involved role by virtue of the numbers of countries and senior level stakeholders the candidate would liaise with and would suit an individual looking to work within a complex matrixed environment.

Duties and Accountabilities1

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides expert advice to leadership teams across the business on Reward matters, including compensation and remuneration policies to ensure competitive positioning
  • Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of Compensation to address complex issues and challenges without clear precedent, balancing global consistency with local relevance
  • Provides in-depth specialist advice to the business on Reward topics and policies, such as Compensation strategy, benchmarking, job evaluation, pay transparency and reward communications
  • Leads as a project manager, providing technical knowledge specialized expertise of Reward disciplines to help enact transformational change and implement People-related initiative
  • Serves as an escalated point of contact within the team, taking on complex employee queries and Reward cases and providing innovative insights and recommendations to resolve issues fairly and efficiently
  • Leads collaboration with teams across the business to successfully implement Reward programs and initiatives, setting the standard of operational excellence within the team
  • Direct operational management of aspects of the annual global compensation reviews from critical preparation activity in system development, communications and budget setting through to supporting HR colleagues and stakeholders across the firm with decision making to deliver appropriate salary increases, bonus awards and exception management.
  • Leads the global pay transparency, including EU Pay Transparency Directive readiness, and oversees the global compensation policy management efforts for the firm
  • Delivers timely communications across multiple channels that are aligned with People function strategy and the overall direction of the Firm.
  • Coach and develop team members, wider HR teams and the business community to enhance their understanding around compensation approach and impact

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Post-graduate study in a relevant subject is desirable but not essential
  • In depth knowledge of US compensation practices and previous exposure to global reward practices across multiple countries, regions and jurisdictions, ideally having experience over a number of years managing annual compensation processes
  • Comfortable working with large sets of data, complex scenario modelling and displaying exceptional analytic skills to be able to add insight from data and translate that so clients can make better informed decisions
  • Solid salary benchmarking experience, an in-depth understanding of job evaluation principles and implementation and exposure to pay equity and pay transparency
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills to multi-task whilst maintaining good attention to detail and focus on operational excellence
  • Excellent consultancy and business partnering skills, stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal capabilities
  • Commercial acumen and strong risk management approach
  • Ability to work under own initiative, with solid time management skills and ability to stay calm under pressure when juggling multiple mandates
  • Experience of a professional services environment

Location and Reporting

  • This is an exempt role based in Tampa.
  • This role reports to the Director, Compensation.
