ABOUT THE POSITION
Position Summary
The position will act as a resource for student employees, help manage workflow in multiple library collections, and provide reference and circulation support for the West Bank Access and Information Services department.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews training materials for student workers and makes recommendations for efficiencies.
  • Coordinate the workflow of student workers in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Assist with the training of new student employees and creating training materials.
  • Staff the information services desk, providing reference, information and access services that require judgment and informed appraisal of the user's needs, based on thorough working knowledge of relevant library policies, procedures, tools and facilities.
  • Serve as a front-line staff for digital information services, answering questions in the campus-wide chat, email queues, LibAnswers and making referrals as appropriate.
  • Instruct users on use of digital and physical materials.
  • Provide instruction in effective database search skills; beginning and advanced Boolean searching, truncation etc.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of college coursework
  • Relevant library experience with access services
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative organizational environment.
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of Alma and other library processes and resources
  • Extensive knowledge of the University Libraries systems, policies, procedures, and referral information for library users
  • Skilled in triaging library questions to relevant staff members
  • Experience with library customer service skills, problem-solving, and handling difficult situations
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20.00/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
