Temple University's Athletics Department is searching for an Assistant Athletics Director of Marketing.

Salary Grade: T25

Position Summary:

Marketing & Fan Engagement will assist in the establishment and maintenance of all Athletics marketing initiatives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: manage game-day operations including game-day scripts and video board elements for Football and Men's Basketball; provide assistance with developing promotional and new revenue campaigns; oversee on-campus advertising; responsible for fan development initiatives; work with student groups to increase attendance at games; assist in the planning of special events; coordinate in-game sponsor promotion/fulfillment with Van Wagner; facilitate production and/or mailing of promotional items; order season ticket holder gifts; create graphics for video boards and/or promotional flyers; and assist in management of respective marketing budgets. The position will also provide support in matters related to the Temple Spirit Squad, as well as community relations. The Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing & Fan Engagement also performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field. A minimum of five years full-time experience working in marketing, promotions and/or fan engagement at the collegiate level. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education:

Master's Degree.

Essential Functions of Position:




  • Develop new concepts that enhance the game day presentation including corporate sponsorship promotions and traditional elements via the creation of new, exciting on-field/on-court/video board promotions.



  • Coordinate efforts with the ticket office, ticket sales team, coaching staffs (Football and Men's Basketball), event management and production staffs (Liacouras Center and Lincoln Financial Field) to ensure success and maximize fan engagement opportunities.



  • Develop and execute on-campus strategic marketing and communication plans for football and men's basketball.



  • Provide oversight and creation of strategic marketing and communication plans for Olympic sports.



  • Develop the "show" for Football and Men's Basketball games which includes directing elements, creating and collecting video board content and writing public address announcements.



  • Serve as in-game producer for Football and Men's Basketball games.



  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Temple Athletics brand and branding campaigns.



  • Assist with American Athletic Conference, NCAA marketing, and on-campus branding initiatives.



  • Supervise the Assistant Director of Marketing and Marketing Coordinator daily.



  • Work closely with corporate sales team to effectively integrate sponsor initiatives in games.



  • Work closely with ticket sales staff to tie together promotional and sales efforts while developing new and engaging programs.



  • Serve as event planner for Athletic events including Season Ticket Holder Parties, Convocation, Football Pep Rallies, Spring Football game, Basketball Pre-Season Tip-Off Event, etc.



  • Oversee the production of on-campus signage to promote upcoming games/events.



  • Cultivate on-campus relationships by representing the Athletics department at various on-campus planning meetings and committees for Homecoming, Alumni Weekend, Greek Life etc.



  • Oversee student marketing initiatives to increase the overall school spirit, build traditions and improve student attendance at games.



  • Oversee efforts related to pre-game student tailgates and kids zone areas.



  • Serve as liaison and decision maker with internal designers for video board content and promotional items.



  • Work closely with the Assistant AD for Branding/Digital Strategy and Assistant AD for Creative Services to execute strategic communication and marketing plans, as well as develop engaging content for multiple platforms.
