The University of Virginia's Facilities Management has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Plumber Professional in our McCormick Zone group, which supports Facilities Management's goal of providing consistent, cost-effective, reliable Plumbing and maintenance to the Arts and Engineering Research community. Senior Plumbers are responsible for similar duties as Plumbers; however, they operate with advanced skill and independence. Senior Plumbers direct, lead, and perform a wide variety of advanced repair, installation, and maintenance tasks to plumbing fixtures and related equipment. They are responsible for independently installing, repairing, and replacing complex plumbing equipment, while providing technical guidance to lower-level Plumbers, Assistants and Apprentices. Compensation: Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $29 - $34 per hour ($60,320 - $70,720 Annually). This is a full-time non-exempt position with UVA benefits. For this position, the selected candidate will need to complete the required background checks prior to the start date of the position. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site. Physical Demands: Employee must be able to variously sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, lift, pull, and use both hands-on repetitive tasks (including overhead tasks). Employee must have normal vision and hearing (correctable), and for some areas of employment, color vision and sense of smell. On-call rotation, emergency response and snow removal will be required.
