Additional Compensation Details:

  • $19.00 - $24.00+ per hour
  • Potential 90-day performance-based raise
  • Yearly review with possibility of increase based on performance and tenure.
Job Description

The Role

The Dispatcher position coordinates and schedules the movement of goods and vehicles within a warehouse and to external destinations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of items. Will also work in tandem with Receiving Department regarding incoming products, cooling times, cross-docks, icing, and any relevant paperwork. Collaborate with Shipping Supervisor to establish daily workload.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (any combination of the following job duties):

  • All employees are responsible for food safety and are expected to notify the appropriate manager, supervisor, or key personnel if they witness any compromise to food safety or food quality.
  • Reviews all completed and incoming orders from Sales.
  • Prepares order building manifests and related shipping documents.
  • Maintains phone contact with Sales to expedite shipments and perform tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Process all administrative functions for receiving and all other departments.
  • Arrange and manage cross-dock, load-only, and return-to-grower (RTG) orders.
  • Prepare orders for County inspections.
  • Short and cut product orders if needed.
  • Verify product availability by regularly checking on orders and received commodities.
  • Maintain, review, and complete daily reports throughout the day.
  • Maintain proper inventory control of product and report any discrepancies or issues.
  • Coordinate, solve, and report any pending discrepancies, short orders, and shipping errors.
  • Complete daily inventory count and update holdover orders list.
  • Coordinates with Order Builders in building orders and assists in loading produce orders onto trucks utilizing forklift. When needed.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • 1-year previous dispatching and receiving experience.
  • At least 1 year of office administrative experience.
  • At least 1 year of forklift experience.
  • Ability to work in/ near a refrigerated environment at 36 - 40 degrees
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment by following all safety practices and food safety procedures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (outlook, word, excel)
  • Basic math skills, counting.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish required.
  • Self-starter, strategic and independent thinker.
  • Must be detail oriented and analytical.
  • Excellent time management and capable of meeting work schedule deadlines.
  • Adaptability/Flexibility, with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involved.
  • Strong and well-organized communicator, both written and verbal.
Additional Information

This is a safety-sensitive position.
