JOB SUMMARY
Works under moderate supervision as a key member of the Donor Relations team within Development and Alumni Relations (DAR). This position leads the planning, creation, and delivery of tailored, high-impact donor reports for endowment gifts and current purpose gifts of $100,000 and above. The Donor Relations Specialist brings strong storytelling and project coordination skills to elevate stewardship communications, foster donor engagement, and support institutional fundraising goals. Serves as the primary point person for endowment reporting, ensuring timely, accurate, and meaningful updates to donors on the impact of their endowed gifts.

The position utilizes platforms like Ovrture to create personalized, multimedia donor experiences and supervises the Donor Relations Coordinator, who supports the planning and execution of reporting projects and ensures all deadlines and deliverables are met. This role partners across Constituent and External Relations, Corporate and Foundation Relations, and Gift Officers to align messaging, ensure accuracy, and deliver meaningful donor touchpoints.

Duties will include:

* Leads the creation of individualized stewardship reports for major gift donors and endowment donors; tailors content to specific gift purposes such as research, clinical care, and capital projects

* Supports the Director of Donor Relations on broader stewardship strategy including gift acknowledgment protocols, and donor reporting

* Maintains organized records and project timelines; contributes to the Donor Relations SOP library.

* Communicates effectively and professionally with faculty and senior leadership

Excellent communications and written skills required. Prefer candidates with donor and supervisory experience. In addition, experience in an academic medical center or non-profit, along with digital storytelling platform experience and high proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe is preferred.

JOB DUTIES



  • Directs, analyzes, coordinates, and evaluates operations and procedures for assigned program within the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR)
  • Provides comprehensive program and project management support to the DAR Leadership Team
  • Establishes goals and objectives and directs evaluation and quality control activities for assigned DAR Program
  • Plans and coordinates activities and special projects for DAR and helps promote initiatives by communicating with a wide variety of internal and external constituents, including faculty, senior leadership, administrators, alumni, donors, and community supporters, as well as city, county and state elected leaders.
  • Creates, edits and produces donor correspondence including acknowledgements letters and stewardship reports, proposals, and business plans; reads literature and attends functions to keep abreast of relevant institutional advancement trends.
  • Coordinates targeted projects for Development and Alumni Relations and/or Institutional Advancement as determined by the needs of the department and institution.
  • Serves as a key member of the Development and Alumni Relations professional support team and works collaboratively with DAR and Institutional Advancement colleagues.
  • Coordinates budget for activity, program, or project following appropriate accounting practices and procedures to ensure all work of activity or program is within budget; prepares and submits reports using spreadsheet and word processing software as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
