City Management Fellow
position with the
City of Corona
. This temporary role offers a unique opportunity to work directly within the City Manager's Office, where you will be involved in dynamic projects, receive supportive supervision, and benefit from one-on-one mentoring by seasoned public sector leaders.
The ideal candidate is someone who demonstrates initiative, has a strong interest in local government operations, wants to advance a career as local government executive

is a motivated self-starter with a strong interest in public service and city management. They bring enthusiasm to every assignment, are skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research, and are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
Management Fellows work closely with the City's executive leadership team, supporting research, analysis, and advising on special projects. Fellows gain hands-on exposure to municipal operations through a variety of administrative and department-specific assignments. Under the supervision of the City Manager's Office, they collaborate with staff across departments to support cross-functional initiatives.

Candidates who pass the virtual HireVue interview will be invited to the in-person oral interviews tentatively scheduled for September 11, 2025. The top scoring candidates from the oral interview will be placed on an eligibility list from which the department may hire.

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business or public administration, or a related field in human resources management, public or business administration, or a related field. May be accepted into, currently enrolled in or have graduated with an MPA/MBA within the last 12 months (closely related fields may be acceptable).
Experience:
Professional experience in administration, management, systems, opera tions, or budgetary analyses is desirable.

The Organization The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. Policymaking and legislative authority are vested in the City Council, consisting of a Mayor and four Council Members. Members of the City Council are elected by District to a four-year term. The Mayor is selected by the Council and serves as the presiding officer for one year. The City is organized into the following departments/organizational units: City Manager's Office, Community Services, Economic Development, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and Risk Management, Planning & Development, Police, Public Works, and Utilities. Oversight of these departments is divided between the City Manager and two Assistant City Managers. The City's total operating budget for Fiscal Year 2026 is $422.7 million with a General Fund operating budget of $231.3 million. Corona enjoys a workforce of 935 dedicated employees who provide high-quality services to its residents and visitors each day.
