Johnson County Mental Health Center is looking for qualified candidates to fill the full time position of Medical Records Specialist. This position is part of a team that creates, maintains and retains medical records for clients, as well as processing requests for records pursuant to state and federal requirements. The Medical Records Specialist will be responsible learning and adhering to 42 CFR, HIPAA and applicable state law concerning confidentiality and privacy of protected healthcare information. First review of applications will begin on August 8th. Job Description Additional duties include: * Gathers information; creates, maintains, and disseminates public and confidential files; distributes reports; performs typing and data entry; processes transactions into systems. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience is required. Experience with medical records and customer service is preferred. Experience can substitute for education. Education can substitute for experience. Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency. Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions: All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments/agencies in a declared emergency situation. |
