The Code Enforcement Officer will be responsible for conducting field investigations regarding possible violations of a variety of City/County codes and ordinances, and related state codes including zoning, nuisance, property maintenance, housing, transportation, and animal and business license/permits, health, and sanitation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receives complaints regarding violations of city/county ordinances and regulations; research city/county codes for appropriate sections. Conducts field investigations regarding possible violations of a variety of city/county codes and ordinances, and related state codes including zoning, nuisance, property maintenance, housing, transportation, and animal and business license/permits, health and sanitation. Explains and interprets City/County ordinances to violators; sets deadlines for compliance and follow-up. Writes notices of violation and directives outlining and describing areas to be brought into compliance. Maintains daily inspection logs, records and files. Takes photographs of violations and prepares comprehensive written reports. Works with various city/county divisions, departments, and other agencies such as Animal Control and Health Department. Job Requirements / Qualifications Current PC 832 Certification. Certification as a Code Enforcement Officer from CACEO or similar organization. 3-5 years' experience. 2 years of municipal experience.
