Lipscomb University is seeking a highly skilled Writer to support all aspects of marketing through the creation and implementation of strategic marketing content that magnifies Lipscomb's brand story. This role adapts tone and messaging across key audiences and mediums, including print, websites, emails, videos, digital advertisements and more. The ideal candidate is a wordsmith, an observer, and a learner, always looking for the most creative way to tell compelling stories. They bring strong collaboration skills, working closely with designers, digital strategists, and campus partners to produce high-impact content across digital and print campaigns. They have a deep understanding of Lipscomb's mission and the ability to write for various audiences, whether students, parents, adult learners, career changers, internal stakeholders or donors. This role takes a strategic, data-informed approach to content creation, leveraging AI tools for efficiency and optimization while maintaining the integrity of Lipscomb University's distinctive brand voice. Key Responsibilities:
- Produce compelling content that advances Lipscomb University's strategic marketing priorities, especially driving messaging for our key revenue channels.
- Write and edit content for a range of print and digital platforms in a way that reinforces brand voice and drives engagement.
- Optimize content for digital performance by ensuring copy is optimized for SEO and user engagement, while maintaining consistent tone, branding and accessibility standards across all channels.
- Work closely with University Marketing team members and campus partners for new program launches, ensuring deep understanding of program features, differentiators and benefits.
- Conduct interviews and coordinate with departments to gather information and insights to accurately and credibly craft messages and content.
- Confidently use generative AI tools to support content ideation, drafting, editing and optimization, enhancing both the speed and quality of output while preserving the authenticity of telling the Lipscomb story.
- Stay current on AI and content marketing trends, continuously exploring new tools and techniques to improve content impact.
- Uphold AP Style and adhere to Lipscomb brand standards for brand voice and personality maintaining high standards for accuracy, clarity and consistency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism, public relations or directly related field.
- One to three years of professional writing experience.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to independently manage projects and seek out creative solutions.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with different teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for storytelling, creative problem-solving and staying current with industry trends.
