Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Maintenance role is responsible to perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
  • Will be required to serve as a backup to the any other maintenance functions as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent is desired.
  • One to three years of work experience desired.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by management.

  • As a member of the Quality Management System, quality procedures, requirements, work instructions, and other required documentation must be followed. Team members are responsible to be aware of the company's quality policy and quality objectives to support the improvement projects and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • Works primarily in a climate controlled manufacturing environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential with moderate noise. Continually required to stand and utilize personal protective safety equipment where designated in the facility. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending.
