Responsibilities

JOB TITLE: Technician, Biomed Full Time 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

JOB OVERVIEW:

A strong machinal skill set required. Performs evaluations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on devices used in the care and treatment of patients at Manatee Health. Ensures the safest and best possible patient experience. Works with supervisor readily available. Delivers exceptional service to all customers that meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements and compliance. Assists UHS HTM leadership with developing and strengthening facility and vendor relationships.

Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate records of all work activities in the computerized maintenance management software (CMMS)

  • Provides service to bed service and repair
  • Oversees corrective and preventive maintenance for assigned devices, ensuring timely follow-up communication

  • Operates all required test equipment correctly for the repair and maintenance of devices within the HTM Program

  • Installs, terminates, and manages cabling, including fiber optic cabling

  • Coordinates the ordering of replacement parts or services for devices
  • Verifies the delivery and accuracy of replacement parts/services and manages invoicing discrepancies
  • Ensures exchange parts are returned for proper credit within specified timeframes
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and reports deviations to leadership promptly
  • Provides reports using the CMMS database, as required
  • Designs dashboards and components based on leadership direction
  • Creates and customizes CMMS reports to support HTM operations
  • Collaborates with leadership and team members to manage the HTM program effectively and achieve program excellence
  • Develops and sustains strong relationships with vendors and coworkers
  • Partners with assigned facilities to develop, maintain, and sustain a 5-year capital plan for devices listed in the CMMS database
  • Facilitates evaluations of medical devices, as assigned
  • Identifies and recommends devices for acquisition or replacement

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Graduate or GED required

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years medical equipment experience

Mimimum Age: 18 years of age

Work Conditions: Standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, keyboard use/repetetive hand motion, and pushing and / or lifting up to 25 pounds are moderate.
