Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the CNA supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living. Performs uncomplicated technical procedures. Participates in performance improvement activities, such as chart audits. Utilizes a variety of technical equipment and supplies. Provides basic patient care support: patient transport, specimen and blood, blood products transport, and inventory management. This position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands, and the ability to work in a team environment. The CNA participates in a collaborative team environment, including training and evaluation of peers, scheduling of work, and assisting the administrative functions of the unit. Will cross-train for the roles of Hospital Unit Secretary (HUSC) and Continuous Observation Attendant (COA). Regularly functions as a patient sitter and observes and monitors patients to ensure their well-being and safety. 7 East is a 14-bed Medical-Surgical unit located at UC San Diego Health's Hillcrest campus, near downtown San Diego. This secured unit provides specialized care for patients with both medical and behavioral health needs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $50,279 - $62,452 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $24.08 - $29.91 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
