DESCRIPTION

At UC San Diego Health, a nationally ranked academic medical center, our CT Imaging Department offers a dynamic, supportive environment where technologists work with the latest advanced imaging technology-including multi-slice and dual-energy CT scanners-to perform high-quality, low-dose scans across a wide range of specialties. As a CT Technologist here, you will prepare and position patients, operate sophisticated CT equipment, adjust scanning parameters, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout each procedure. You will follow strict radiation safety guidelines, review images for quality, collaborate closely with expert radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams, and maintain accurate records. Strong communication skills are essential to explain procedures and support patients effectively.

This candidate selected for this position will be crossed trained as a CT Tech

This posting covers opportunities across multiple UC San Diego Health locations, including La Jolla, Hillcrest, and East Campus. Candidates may be required to float between sites depending on departmental needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of a school of radiologic Technology.

  • California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT-R).

  • Registered Technologist for Radiography issued by ARRT (R.T(R)(ARRT)).

  • Venipuncture certification.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Registered Technologist for Computed Tomography issued by ARRT (R.T(CT)(ARRT))or commitment to obtain within 6 months of hire.

  • Thorough knowledge of radiological computerized systems and applications.

  • Thorough understanding of various radiological systems to include PACS and RIS.

  • Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • California Radiology Technologist of Fluoroscopy (CRT-F).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • The selected candidate will receive training on the day shift and will transition to night shifts and possible weekends upon completion of training.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $118,724 - $147,705 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $56.86 - $70.74

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
