ABOUT THE POSITION
Position Overview: The Student Researcher will plan, execute and analyze experiments that explore the biology of human breast cancer cells. The Student Researcher activities will be directed by the laboratory head and may require review of primary literature; culturing human cells; analysing gene expression and function; assessing sensitivity to drugs; and communicating experimental results to other lab members and publicly. The Student Researcher may be assigned laboratory 'housekeeping' duties including cleaning glassware, restocking plasticware, and running the autoclave. Regular participation in lab meetings is required. This position is based on campus. Per UMN policy, work may be done remotely when appropriate and approved by your manager. All UMN employees are expected to follow applicable public health and safety procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Function 1 (80%)
* Plan, excecute and analyze experiments in the biology of breast cancer cells.
Function 2 (10%)
* Share experimental results and plan future experiments in lab meetings.
Function 3 (10%)
* Keep the lab clean, organized and stocked with supplies.

PAY & BENEFITS
Pay Range: $15.25-20/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment: 20% Appointment
Work Location: In Person

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be an undergraduate student

Preferred:
* Prior experience working in biomedical science research is preferred.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.25 - $20.00/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
