Job Description:

ThePharmaceutical Manufacturing Set Up Specialist -Weekend Nightswill oversee the setup of high speed manufacturing equipment by working with manufacturing personnel on a daily basis to setup the equipment and resolving issues that occur. The specialist will work closely with manufacturing technicians to train and mentor personnel to ensure machine setups are done correctly and consistently across all shifts. The specialist analyzes present and proposed manufacturing processes and technologies to determine improvements to setup processes, equipment tooling, and automation to optimize manufacturing processes, meet present and new regulations, reduce rejects, and increase capacity. Other responsibilities will include equipment performance tracking and review of OEE/OPE metrics to support on-going production equipment performance improvements. The specialist will investigate any equipment related challenges in collaboration with line QA and Manufacturing personnel.

  1. Oversee the mechanical operation of high speed filling equipment in production areas, spending 75 - 80% of time in the aseptic core or area of expertise performing setup activities and troubleshooting.
  2. Develop and assist in the proper training for sterile machine operators for consistent and proper machine setup.
  3. Build an inspection plan for equipment tooling and replacement of worn out components. Continuously monitor wear condition of machine and format parts.
  4. Optimize run operations to maximize yield and reduce waste. Review OEE/OPE metrics, identify root causes, and develop corrective actions for poor performing equipment/production runs.
  5. Assist in the selection and installation of manufacturing process equipment.
  6. Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to equipment challenges in Manufacturing.
  7. Provide mechanical operation support during new process machinabilities and make recommendations for optimized operation.
  8. Investigate incidents in collaboration with line QA and Manufacturing personnel. Identify and implement CAPAs as applicable.
  9. Maintain gown certification in ISO environments
  10. Provide clear and concise information in Maintenance Work Order Documentation System - SAP PM.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Military Tech or Trade School desired
  • 3-5 years of directly related experience required
  • Lead experience is desired.
  • Pharmaceutical (sterile machine operations) and FDA experience desired.
  • Mastery Skills in Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • General awareness In Microsoft PowerPoint required
  • Working Knowledge in SAP and ETQ required
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds unassisted, exposure to allergens, work in aseptic areas and confined spaces, repetitive activity, pushing, pulling, prolonged standing, twisting, required for position required

Shift: Weekend Nights, Friday-Sunday E/O Thursday 6pm-6am

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

  • Hiring Wage: $30.93-$41.85 hr. depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
    • Shift Differential pay is available for this position, and is determined by hours worked on selected shift.
