The Ideal Candidate
The Wholesale Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Johnston & Murphy wholesale business. This position is responsible for managing a range of operational and administrative tasks that ensure the seamless execution of wholesale activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with multiple departments, including Sales, Marketing, Design, Development, and Logistics, as well as external partners and sales representatives.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Product & Category Support
- Coordinate merchandise and operational needs for assigned categories (e.g., footwear, accessories, apparel)
- Support seasonal merchandise forecasting and buy processes
- Liaise with sourcing teams to ensure timely delivery of product and samples
- Data & Reporting Management
- Maintain wholesale reporting using vendor portals (e.g., Jesta, PAX, Cognos)
- Analyze large datasets to provide actionable insights to internal stakeholders
- Track sales performance, forecasts, and shipping status across accounts
- Sales & Account Coordination
- Maintain accurate wholesale account door lists and sales rep territory alignments
- Support internal accounts and direct-ship vendor relationships
- Assist with territory budgeting and execution of special account initiatives
- Sample & Event Logistics
- Coordinate wholesale sample shipments for trade shows, vendor previews, and internal meetings
- Organize and maintain the wholesale sample closet
- Assist with showroom installations and support seasonal sales meetings (travel may be required for major trade shows such as Chicago, Atlanta, and NYC)
- Sales Tools & Platform Support
- Collaborate with the wholesale marketing team to communicate seasonal product stories
- Proof and manage line sheets, pricing, and product content on NuORDER (B2B platform)
- Ensure sales tools are accurate, timely, and aligned with go-to-market strategy
Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in wholesale, merchandising, or related fields
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, Jesta, PAX)
- Familiarity with wholesale platforms such as NuORDER a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel for trade shows and sales meetings as needed
