Under general supervision, performs paraprofessional human services work in support of program objectives and supports Child Care Assistance and Referral (CCAR) staff. Tracks submissions of applications for eligibility and performs monthly tracking of document submissions. Provides administrative support for the CCAR call center and staff. Assists staff with specific routine case management services such maintaining the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) application portal, processing portal applications for childcare subsidy, intake client interviews, processes mailings for required notices and contracts, tracks the return of signed documents and maintains/updates information in two case management systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

graduation from high school or G.E.D. issued by state department of education; plus three years of work experience, including two years in some area of human services (related two-year [associate] degree may be substituted for the required human service experience).
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and child protective services to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience working in human services; experience in working with the public and managing multiple tasks at one time.
- Experience in reviewing completeness of applications for eligibility review.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- At least one year of full-time equivalent experience performing the following duties: record keeping, record review, data entry, reception/intake service.
- Experience providing excellent customer service to a diverse population.
- Basic proficiency utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using a multi-line phone system, paperless filing system, and case management system.
- Clear and concise abilities in oral and written communications skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to use automated technology. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

Panel interview may include written exercise.
