Description

The Administrative Assistant III will provide support to the UCLA Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Special Patient Care/Hospital Dentistry, and Advanced Prosthodontics department. In this role you will work as a member of the front office team to provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimal patient satisfaction and maximize clinic efficiency. Duties will include: answering phones, scheduling appointments, confirming appointments, calling patients for appointment recalls, checking messages, returning phone calls, scanning documents, reception/check-in, pre-registration, verifying benefits and eligibility.

Salary Range: $30.36 - $43.49/Hourly

Qualifications
Required:
  • Working
    knowledge of medical and dental procedural CPT and CDT coding process.
  • Critical
    thinking skills, analytical skills and the ability to work with minimal
    supervision. Requires strong communication (verbal and written, clear and
    concise), customer service and interpersonal skills. Must be able to take
    appropriate action in a high call volume environment.
  • Able
    to work with diverse populations (patient, staff, physicians) under difficult
    and challenging situations. Supports a team approach.
  • Demonstrated
    ability to maintain composure when confronted by difficult situations and to
    respond professionally.Maintains commitment to our customer service
    standards, World-Class practices, and CI - CARE principle.
  • Demonstrated
    ability to creatively integrate competing demands of a multidisciplinary
    setting into a productive working environment to accomplish established
    objectives.
  • Working
    knowledge of PC window applications sufficient to input and retrieve data.
  • Basic
    knowledge of phone systems and technology.
  • Readily
    accepts work assignments and changes within UCLA Health in a positive
    manner.
  • Skill
    in recognizing an emergency or high priority situation and taking appropriate
    and immediate action when it comes topatient management, including
    patient advocacy and resolution of patient complaints.
  • Ability
    to maintain satisfactory attendance.
  • Ability
    to enforce clinic policies and procedures by following established policies and
    procedures.
  • Ability
    to adapt and work changing assignments depending on departmental needs.
Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of computerized appointment
    scheduling system, insurance payors and processing or other related office
    functions.
  • Working knowledge of the UCLA Health System.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Spanish.
  • General knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
