Overview:

The Manager of Referral Development & Patient Access for the Children s Health Service Line will develop and manage programs and relationships focused on referral capture and enhanced patient access including the pediatric navigation and physician liaison initiatives,

The Manager, Referral Development & Patient Access will ensure a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt, consistent courteous service to support RWJBH s mission in becoming the premier academic system for children in the State of New Jersey,

Stays abreast of landscape of local primary and specialty physicians and referring entities to increase the number of patient referrals to the healthcare system,

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with local care providers & referral sources to promote pediatric services in the RWJBH Health System
  • Work with JV and employed primary care practices & physicians to build and maintain relationships with specialists and surgeons to encourage referrals
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner practices, ensuring exceptional, timely service for our patients and referring providers
  • Drive provider collaboration among sub-specialties
  • Communicate regularly with receiving physicians to identify gaps in the delivery of the program and make recommendations of best practices
  • Stay abreast of services and offerings to better serve patients and other customers in need of care
  • Develop data collection and referral tools to track program progress and performance measures
  • Identify and assess opportunities for programmatic expansion for review by senior leadership
  • Remove barriers to care by identifying appointments for patients and their families, assisting with navigation through the RWJBH health care services and system
  • Provide support for navigation line, including web inquiries, during high volume periods and in absence of navigator
  • Supports development of access center in collaboration with system colleagues and collaborates with existing centers in the system
  • Represent RWJBH at local healthcare events, conferences, and community engagements to build brand awareness
  • Provide oversight of and direction to direct reports, ensuring they provide an excellent customer experience and maintain strong commitment to the mission and vision of the program in alignment with RWJBH values

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s Degree or higher in health services administration, business, communications, marketing, or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to travel within service area
  • Minimum of five years experience in healthcare setting

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with healthcare terminology
