The PMO Senior Manager leads a team of project and program management professionals who support client engagements across all technology consulting practices. This client-facing, billable role works directly with clients and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes by meeting timelines, budgets, and driving alignment with business objectives. Our technology consulting practice delivers implementations, managed services, case-based work, and staff augmentation, using time-and-materials, fixed-fee, and subscription-based models. The PMO Senior Manager has the experience to operate effectively across all these delivery types. The PMO Senior Manager sets consistent delivery standards, partners with practice leaders, and fosters a high-performance, consultative culture. The PMO Senior Manager models proactive, consultative project management to their team including anticipating client needs, addressing risks early, and delivering tailored solutions that drive exceptional client satisfaction.

Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a PMO Senior Manager might include:

  • Lead a billable project management team with accountability for both delivery excellence and financial performance, driving high utilization and supporting strong realization across all engagements.
  • Successfully direct project and program management services across diverse client engagements including multiple technology domains and delivery models.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing PMO team with a strong client service orientation.
  • Champion consultative project management practices that empower teams to guide clients through complex initiatives.
  • Collaborate with consulting practice leaders to integrate project management into delivery models and align with strategic goals.
  • Oversee project intake, scope management, prioritization, and resource allocation across a dynamic portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain scalable delivery standards, methodologies, and tools.
  • Implement performance reporting to monitor project health, portfolio outcomes, and team capacity.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency and PMO effectiveness.
  • Support change management efforts with frameworks and strategies that promote adoption and transformation.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in project and program management, including leadership of PMO functions.
  • Proven success in client-facing roles within client-facing, billable professional services or technology consulting.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-workstream engagements and transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven project management tools and their application in delivery optimization. Expertise in Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strong financial results in a billable, consulting environment.
  • Strong consultative and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in portfolio management, resource planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, executive communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Competency in AI tools and technologies that enhance forecasting, automation, and decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of change management frameworks and adoption strategies.
  • Ability to lead teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Strong consultative and strategic thinking abilities.

Compensation: $155,000-$200,000

Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
