We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Sr. Team Leader to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. The Sr. Team Leader will supervise all operations as part of the process for the assembly of products in the assigned cell, Specials. Ensures that all Value Stream production meets customer requirements of quality and timeliness.

Responsibilities:



  • Supervise the team to ensure high level of productivity and quality. Ensures that staff works as a team. Leads by example, communicates information, and provides training on new procedures. Determines performance expectations, evaluates performance, and provides coaching and training opportunities. Handles employee issues in a timely way. Directs work of Team Leaders, as required.
  • Prioritize work. Maintain appropriate staffing level. Maintain workflow and balance, tracks, and monitor's work. Ensures that productivity and quality standards and measures are met for product line. Communicates information to appropriate departments and individuals. Provides reports. Manages expenses.
  • Utilize Lean manufacturing to achieve company goals in cost, product flow, throughput, productivity, quality, and delivery. Responsible for line performance, measurements, capacity planning and performance matrices.
  • Act as a troubleshooter for assembly / machining process problems. Resolve problems or refer problems to appropriate individual. Work with Order Processing Team, Engineering and Sales Representatives to resolve issues.
  • May act as Value Stream Manager or Manufacturing Supervisor during their absence.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety incidents to supervisor.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to work processes. Ensure that group maintains 5 S program.
  • Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contributes to positive teamwork environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Participates in training/learning other positions. Accomplishes related results as needed.



Qualifications:


Education: BS Degree in Industrial Technology or Business Administration or related degree.



Experience:



  • 5+ years manufacturing experience.
  • 1+ years of demonstrated leadership experience



Skills:



  • Strong technical skills related to manufacturing with ability to prioritize and appropriately delegate as needed.
  • Strong communications skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels in the organization.
  • Problem solving skills and achieving results.
  • Ability to lead and train others.
  • Solids computer skills, working with Micro Soft products and an ERP/MRP software.



Physical Requirements:



  • Occasional lifting and moving of material up to 40 pounds
  • Frequent computer work; mental and visual attention
  • Frequent walking and standing
  • Frequent sitting
