Salesforce Inc. seeks Manager, Software Engineering in Palo Alto, CA: Job Duties: Build and lead a team of 5-8 full stack software engineers to work on the critical projects of expanding Data Modeling and Analytics capabilities of Tableau. Recruit, hire, support, and help to grow diverse engineering talent. Mentor the team in best engineering practices and help them to grow and become highly productive and collaborative. Provide technical guidance, participate in architectural and design discussions while empowering engineers on the team to make important technical decisions. Use expertise in Data Modeling and Semantic Layers to build advanced data visualization and data insights into Tableau Online, Server and Desktop lines of products. Collaborate with Product Management on features requirements and with UX Designers on creating a delightful user experience for customers. Drive the culture of operational excellence with the focus on scale, performance, security, and reliability. Participate in organization-wide initiatives to create processes that improve engineering productivity and drive a culture of innovation. Partner with numerous teams across development organization to deliver the next generation of Tableau Analytics. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field. Special Skill Requirements: (1.) Developing and Testing Multi-tiered web-based applications; (2.) .NET Framework, C#, Javascript, XHTML, HTML, XML, XSLT, SOAP, Web services, jQuery, and SQL; (3.) Developing and testing applications using C, C++; Object oriented design and analysis, software integration and performance optimization; and (4.) Conducting code analysis, requirements analysis, architecture and software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.
