The Cybersecurity Business Operations Lead is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for driving financial and operational excellence across the Cybersecurity organization. This role supports strategic planning, investment governance, and financial transparency, ensuring alignment with portfolio priorities and enterprise standards. Reports directly to the VP of Cybersecurity Portfolio & Program Management and partners collaborates and closely with IT Finance, Corporate Accounting, and IT Portfolio Management, serving as a trusted advisor to Cybersecurity leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead annual and quarterly financial expenditure planning activities aligned with Cybersecurity strategy.
  • Recommend forecast adjustments, corrective actions, and spending strategies across various expense areas and capital investments, based on business goals and expense analysis.
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership.

Expense Oversight & Accrual Management

  • Manage monthly accruals and reclasses for various expenses including third party professional services and technology partners.
  • Review purchase requests and postings to ensure accurate expense classification and alignment with project and base budgets.
  • Provide process and educational support to Cybersecurity budget owners and leadership.
  • Ensure Cybersecurity business and organizational changes are relayed to financial or portfolio system owners to promote process compliance.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance with internal controls.

Investment Governance & Planning

  • Lead creation and review of business cases and funding requests.
  • Guide Cybersecurity leadership and project managers through capital planning and compliance processes.
  • Complete capital asset requests for projects and ensure alignment with company processes and policies.
  • Drive submission and review activities of investment purchase requests with IT Finance, Accounting, and IT Portfolio Management.
  • Facilitate review and disposition of funding requests submitted to Cybersecurity via the IT Portfolio process.
  • Maintain a business investment view of the Cybersecurity portfolio in alignment with goals and objectives.
  • Manage investment requests and ensure appropriate approvals are secured prior to purchase.
  • Review third party agreements, including Statements of Work and purchase agreements, prior to execution for alignment to business goals and objectives.

Reporting & Portfolio Financial Oversight

  • Leverage existing financial performance and portfolio reporting to develop executive-level views.
  • Monitor expenditures and reconcile data across Power BI, PlanView, Workday and ERP systems.
  • Monitor portfolio health and identify financial risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct variance analysis and prepare walkdowns for fiscal comparisons.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Process Optimization

  • Serve as liaison between Cybersecurity, IT Finance, Corporate Accounting, and IT Portfolio Management.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance transparency and automation.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote financial best practices.
  • Represent Cybersecurity in enterprise-wide financial governance forums.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in financial operations, ideally within IT or Cybersecurity.

Additional Requirements

  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, accruals, capital planning, and compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, Excel, Power BI, PlanView, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive strategic outcomes.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$144,200 - $240,300
