Position Summary The Operations/Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire operation of a manufacturing plant, including production, logistics, maintenance, and quality control. Lead, train, and mentor supervisors in all aspects of the production operations. Lead and improve production operations performance within the organization to safely produce quality products and services on time and complete. Drive continuous improvement through development of improved methods, tooling, machinery, and facilities to achieve business goals and objectives. Reporting to senior leadership, this role has full authority over plant operations, making key decisions on staffing, budgeting, and production processes. Key Responsibilities
- Direct supervision and development of plant employees - may be over multiple departments or in multiple plants.
- Determine staffing needs and coordinate resources, optimizing facilities, personnel, and equipment in order to meet production requirements.
- Foster and develop a trained and motivated production workforce and maintain a positive employee culture.
- Actively implement continuous improvement, through identifying and resolving issues impacting safety, quality, and process flow
- Perform performance evaluations and handle disciplinary actions of direct reports.
- Review production processes and make recommendations to improve quality, reduce cost, or increase efficiency.

- Develop and evaluate manufacturing methods and standard operating procedures for key processes.
- Promote a team-based culture and open communications with broader team.
- Report the status of production goals, compliance to schedules, and budget considerations to Operations Manager.
- Active leadership and support of AMS initiatives.
- Write standard operating procedures and work instructions for key processes.
- Interface with other key areas/departments to meet customer requirements.
- Achieve optimal standards in on-time delivery, productivity quality and safety.
- Apply Lean principles in own work performance and drive Lean applications in company operations.
- Develop, establish, and implement long-range and short-term strategies and operating policies to achieve established departmental goals and objectives.
- Set clear performance expectations for team members and establish appropriate metrics to measure process effectiveness and improve results.

- Analyze customer requests/issues and make decisions for their best resolution.
- Report the status of production goals, compliance to schedules, and budget considerations to Director of Operations.
- Represent manufacturing/operations on cross-functional project teams.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified candidates will possess a 4-year degree in a related discipline and 7 or more years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A successful track record of attaining results and building highly effective teams is required.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, project management skills, above average computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems) and mechanical aptitude.

- Prior experience with implementation of Lean concepts required.

Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- Travel requirements are occasional (10-15%).
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- When on the production floor the noise level may be loud.
