This position is responsible for leading all functions within the Operating Unit to ensure the team produces trucks in the safest, most efficient, and with a never-ending push for the best quality mindset.

Position offers an annual salary of $134,770.00.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Lead all functions within the Operating Unit to ensure the team produces trucks in the safest, most efficient, and with a never-ending push for the best quality mindset. The Operating Unit Manager will also ensure the department exceeds all SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale) related targets, utilizing TOS fundamentals. The Operating Unit Manager will also be responsible to coach, mentor and develop the team members. Develop area teams through coaching and mentoring, to help promote a safe, happy, and healthy work environment. Communicate relevant information and goals to the area teams, track targets and provide performance feedback to the areas. Help facilitate and develop continuous improvement strategies within the teams to create a strong plant continuous improvement culture. Develop action plans to help execute the long-term vision "Blue Sky", involving all support areas. Monitor and revise manpower requirements when appropriate. Generate and implement cost improvement projects. Plan and assign work, instruct in methods and procedures, check and approve work, handle complaints and grievances and provide work guidance for employees. Recommend and make final decisions for hiring and promotions. Make responsible ad hoc decisions regarding product quality and cost-effective repairs.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Logistics, or related field
  • 5 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience must include: experience with Truck Operating systems and tools; and experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
