Description The Workforce Development Team is responsible for building pathways and pipelines of talent into and through the organization in a variety of different ways. It includes career navigators collaborating with specialist populations, as well as specialists building awareness, managing and building programs and connecting with partners. We are a collaborative team with a deep commitment to growing the healthcare workforce of the future. The Workforce Development Specialist role is responsible for developing and leading system workforce development efforts. This role works closely with the business to identify, develop and grow new talent pipelines by creating programs and pathways to educate tomorrow's healthcare workers. This position will be responsible for maintaining and growing MaineHealth's presence in high schools in the state. In particular, the WFD specialist will grow awareness of careers in healthcare, help students navigate educational and experiential opportunities in pursuit of career goals and build programs to provide pathways to high need positions.Helping to build and manage partnerships with other organizations in growing the state's healthcare workforce is an important part of this role. We anticipate that this role will include travel across the MaineHealth footprint and will encompass 10-20% of the positions time. The role is a 40-hour-a-week position, generally Monday to Friday, though some evenings and occasional weekend work may be required dependent on programming needs.
