ABOUT THE POSITION: As our 2nd Shift Team Leader for our Assembly Zone, you'll oversee two assembly areas in separate (but nearby) buildings, ensuring smooth operations and a safe, efficient work environment. You'll be on the floor checking in with cell leads, understanding what's happening in your zones, and driving improvements where needed. In this role, you'll work closely with your team to close performance gaps, reinforce safety and quality standards, and build consistency across shifts. Through coaching, problem-solving, and daily Leader Standard Work, you'll help the team meet customer expectations while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE: You bring 3-5 years of manufacturing floor experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role. You know how to motivate and guide teams to solve problems, close gaps, and sustain improvements. Your people management skills include holding others accountable, recognizing achievements, and developing talent. You have formal problem-solving training and can coach others in applying it. A bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or in Operations Management, is preferred, yet we will consider someone with relevant years of experience. Most importantly, you're a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and inspires others to perform at their best.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

You will PERFORM by:



  • Creating a safe and clean working environment by training and enforcing safety policies.
  • Delivering to customer expectations by enforcing and calibrating the team on quality standards.
  • Escalating barriers and problems of man, method, materials, and machine systemic issues.
  • Preparing for next shift and reporting abnormalities to ensure a smooth hand-off.
  • Observing team members and ensuring accountability to standards through regular performance feedback.
  • Recognizing and celebrating behaviors and results that support our culture or brand.


You will INNOVATE by:



  • Organizing and planning daily Zone staffing/execution to meet customer demand and achieve SQDC goals.
  • Using Leader Standard Work (LSW) to drive Zone actions, containing problems timely and resolving effectively or ensuring proper escalation.
  • Communicating with counterparts to identify potential problems and key actions.
  • Using observation (LSW) and data to assist team members to identify waste and facilitating improvements.
  • Demonstrating PDCA thinking through the prioritization of "just do it" actions, 4-setps, and kaizen events.

  • Identifying and facilitating development opportunities for team members utilizing the skills matrix.
  • Listening to your teams to serve their needs.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelors of Engineering (preferred)
Experience
1 - 2 years: Leadership experience (required)
3 - 5 years: Manufacturing floor experience (required)
