This position has full product marketing responsibilities and ownership of assigned current product lines. This position will drive marketing strategies and plans; translate market research and competitive product analysis activities; oversee go-to-market strategies; and drive the commercialization and profit and loss of new products. This position is also responsible for the ongoing coaching and training of the Product Managers to ensure a high performing team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS



  1. Drive product marketing strategies and plans by independently identifying key questions and conducting root cause analysis to drive commercialization activities.
  2. Lead scenario planning and segmentation analysis for strategic initiatives on both short- and long-term visions and strategies.
  3. Translate analytics and market research from multiple sources of information including Voice of Customer (VOC) and other resources as appropriate to identify market, technology, and regional trends.
  4. Translate analytics and market research into actionable business recommendations for value propositions and market awareness.
  5. Perform market mapping, SWOT, and risk analysis to continually update impacted areas of vision and strategy.
  6. Coach, mentor, and train Associate Product Managers and Product Managers to ensure a high performing team with scalable job responsibilities.
  7. Communicate updates throughout the organizational team including Research and Development, Finance, Manufacturing, Sales, Regulatory, and Leadership team. Share metrics to assess overall product performance through one-, three-, and five-year product strategies.
  8. Drive product pricing, positioning, forecasting, regulatory needs, branding, packaging, creation of product and marketing collateral by communicating information to KOLs and management. Determine market acceptance and target profit margin.
  9. Own and maintain accountabilities for all aspects of product success over the product lifecycle continuum to assure products meet Streck's performance and quality standards.
  10. Lead go-to-market strategy for new and existing products by performing qualifications, quantifications, and monetization of the total market opportunity.
  11. Collaborate with sales teams and customers through field travel, tradeshow attendance or other customer engagement to gather Voice of the Customer (VOC).
  12. Drive up-stream marketing efforts with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and internal stakeholders such as Business Development, Research and Development, Sales and Marketing, and Management.
  13. Provide product and technical information and training to Sales and other groups to assist in selling new products and gaining stronger product knowledge.
  14. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree preferably in marketing, life science, or related field with marketing focus in product management and product planning. An advanced degree like a master's degree in business administration is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of product management of diagnostic instruments, laboratory products or medical devices.
  • Excellent grasp of recent developments in science and technology in the diagnostics arena.
  • Strong marketing experience in the life sciences industry strongly preferred.



TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:



  • Experience with conducting market research to assess needs of the target market to aid in conceptualization of new products.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills to understand market needs and develop customer-based strategies and collateral to maintain and grow market share.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and solicit appropriate opinions. Ability to objectively prioritize internal and external feedback and expedite corrective actions to achieve project goals.



**WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL DEMANDS:

The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work). Travel demands for this position are estimated up to >40%. If travel is required, this travel may include customer visits, events/trade shows, and completion of presentations primarily throughout Domestic US or International regions. Employees must comply with all travel recommendations regarding "safe travel" according to company policies and guidelines, and all federal, state, local, and international orders.

Physical and Mental Demands:

Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This also includes standing for up to two and a half hours consecutively, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, stooping, fingering, and grasping. Expressing and receiving detailed information through written and oral communication. Also has an ability to make sound, appropriate, and prompt decisions within the guidelines of the role.
