The Duke University Police Officers serve the Duke campus and Duke University Hospital. Certified by the State of North Carolina, Duke officers meet the same standards as state and municipal officers. The department is allocated over 70 police officers, and patrol officers work 12 hour shifts. Currently, officers are assigned to permanent day or night shifts, working a scheduled 14 days of every 28. There are opportunities such as investigations, crime prevention, training, etc. The Department is nationally accredited through CALEA. Anticipated Pay Range Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $28.94 to USD $46.09. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; and market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
