V2X is growing! The Software Engineer will join our multi-discipline software engineering team in Indianapolis, IN, supporting programs in next-generation avionics and weapon system integration. Our team and products address the customer's needs for rapid capability integration that provide superior combat relevance and readiness across the airborne fleet via integrated sense, control, employment, and deployment solutions. Our team develops innovative Weapon System Integration (WSI) solutions for the airborne warfighter to address current and emerging threat environments. The ideal candidate embraces modern development processes and techniques that improve product quality and team productivity. Our Indianapolis facility also supports a variety of other product lines serving multiple DoD customers providing the opportunity to work on a diverse set of programs and roles supporting the continued advancement of your career.

Typical Duties:

The Software Engineer is responsible for development, integration, test, and documentation of software for our Weapon System Integration (WSI) products. The Software Engineer is responsible for developing software, tailoring reusable software, and integrating software components on virtual machines and target hardware. As part of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), the Software Engineer will participate in the full software lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, implementation and unit testing, and software integration and test. The Software Engineer shares knowledge with other engineers and contributes to maturing and improving our processes and products. Adherence to coding standards and best practices, and configuration management of all code is required for this position.

Required Skills:



  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in software development or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and optimize code to meet performance and efficiency requirements
  • Hands-on experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Eclipse and Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Familiarity with automated testing and automated test frameworks
  • Strong grasp of software development processes, including version control, code reviews, and continuous integration
  • Working knowledge of Agile and DevSecOps methodologies and environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proven experience contributing to Agile or DevOps software development teams
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DoD Secret-level security clearance


Desired Skills:



  • Experience with C# and Python programming languages
  • Experience with standards such as: MIL-STD-1553 or MIL-STD-1760
  • Universal Armament Interface (UAI)
  • Experience developing embedded software including hardware/software integration experience
  • Experience across every phase of the software development life cycle
  • Experience with Containerization and Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Coverity or SonarQube or other equivalent static analysis tools
  • Agile and/or SCRUM experience and certifications (Scrum Developer, Scrum Master, Product Owner, etc.)
  • Experience with DoD development process
  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.


Education Requirements:

Bachelors Degree with a major in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) degree program.
