This Principal Engineer I&C is responsible for leading a team of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Engineers across large-scale projects, overseeing all technical aspects during both design and construction phases. The position involves preparing Basic Design, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and detailed design documentation for Process Control Systems, Building Control Systems, and other ELV systems. It also includes developing integrated engineering solutions for Facility Monitoring and Control Systems (FMCS), Building Management Systems (BMS), Life Safety Systems (LSS), Security, Telecom, and IT infrastructure, ensuring all deliverables meet project scope, timelines, and budget requirements.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Develop Sequence of Operations/Logic Diagrams and cause and effect
  • Checking the Design Documents, Studies, Specifications, datasheets and Calculations prepared by other Instrument Engineers
  • Execute/Expedite Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) system packages during construction phase of a project and taking responsibility for the assigned packages
  • Co-ordination on scheduling activities for Extra Low Voltage (ELV) supervisors on a project to ensure timely delivery at project milestone dates
  • Interfacing with other trades during the design phase and incorporate their requirements into Extra-Low Voltage system design
  • Technical Evaluation of vendor submissions including approval of shop drawings
  • Preparing the procedure for testing and commissioning of individual system and assisting in loop commissioning of the controls system
  • Guiding Designer/Draftsman for preparing cable routing plan, hook-up drawings, wiring drawings
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Required

  • Education: Degree in Instrumentation, Controls, or Automation Engineering.
  • 6-12 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience leading the design and construction of process control and instrumentation systems for industrial and intelligent building projects, including fast-track environments
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is an added advantage preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), PDF document management.
  • Proficiency in Navisworks and Revit Experience with CAD automation tools such as SPI, AVEVA COMOS is preferred.
  • Familiarity with BIM processes for integrated design and coordination.

In-depth understanding of:

  • Field instrumentation and control devices.
  • Distributed Control System (DCS), SCADA, PLC, DDC, and related technologies.
  • TGMS, Fire and Gas detection, Safety Instrumented Systems, CCTV, Access Control, Telecommunications systems.
  • Strong grasp of safety, environmental requirements, and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of building codes
