Description

As our Interconnection Agreements Negotiator, you'll play a pivotal role on the Resource Utilization team-leading negotiations, managing agreements, and ensuring seamless connections between Interconnection Customer facilities and Transmission Owner systems. You'll be at the center of stakeholder engagement, process management, and compliance, directly influencing how new generation facilities come online and join the grid.

You'll be part of a dynamic, talented team that drives queue activity, processes interconnection requests, supports engineering staff with project management, negotiates agreements, and coordinates the integration of new generating facilities. The work is fast-paced, impactful, and collaborative, balancing technical expertise with stakeholder needs-all while helping shape the grid of the future.

In your first year, success will look like:



  • Gaining a strong understanding of the MISO interconnection Tariff and queue process.
  • Confidently fielding questions and leading ad hoc discussions about generator interconnection agreements and negotiations process
  • Independently facilitating and managing agreements, negotiations and daily tasks while spotting opportunities for continuous improvement.


What we're looking for:



  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Management, or a related field (or 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with MISO stakeholder involvement and in a regulatory environment.
  • Experience with interconnection process.
  • Prior contract negotiation or administration experience.


Preferred qualifications include:



  • Master's Degree
  • Project or process management experience.
  • Knowledge of NERC, FERC, CIP, and SSAE 16 regulatory compliance requirements.


Appropriate level will be determined based on experience and expertise.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $133,000-$153,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
