National Grid is hiring a Lead Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer. This position will sit in on our Hicksville Location but will travel to our various plant sites across Long island. Job Purpose
The Lead Controls Engineer, reporting to the Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Manager within the Power Engineering Department (PED), plays a pivotal role in advancing our energy initiatives. This position involves collaboration with internal and external teams on innovative projects, regulatory compliance, and enhancements to our existing fleet of steam and gas turbine units on Long Island, as well as exploring renewable energy opportunities. The engineer will conduct comprehensive technical, financial, and operational evaluations of both new and existing Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) assets, which include process control instrumentation, pneumatics, PLCs, DCSs, control wiring, communication networks, and safety instrumented systems. Responsibilities encompass evaluating project design, licensing, process safety, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations, while developing design specifications and procedures for various projects. More Information Salary $145,000 - $170,000 a year This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
