Job Summary Supports the general mission of the Public Safety Coordination Center (PSCC) by maintaining the interests of CSX Transportation (CSXT). Prioritizes, manages, coordinates, and documents incidents and emergencies in accordance with established procedures. Provides timely and accurate communication services to the employees, departments, and customers of CSXT, as well as to public emergency responders (police, fire, ambulance), and regulatory agencies as required by law.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Communicate and coordinate with CSX and local emergency responders and the public regarding emergencies.
- Notify federal, state and local regulatory agencies of chemical releases to the environment, significant security concerns or major incidents.
- Assist the public with non-emergency issues.
- Utilize NCIC/FCIC certification to access state and federal crime databases.
- Apply critical thinking and follow established procedures to assess complex situations, connect relevant information, and resolve public safety incidents effectively.
Develop and maintain software tools and frameworks through hands-on programming to support public safety operations, system integration, and real-time decision-making within the PSCC. Serve as the Local Agency Security Officer (LASO). Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree/2-year Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in Railroad Operations, Law Enforcement, Military, Customer Service or Emergency Communications
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 1 or more years of experience in Railroad Operations, Law Enforcement, Military, Customer Service or Emergency Communications
- 1 or more years of experience as a Local Agency Security Officer (LASO).
- Ability to implement and enforce security policies for systems handling criminal justice information.
- Familiarity with encryption standards, incident response, and cybersecurity best practices in law enforcement systems.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to retain security information in confidence
- Ability to address inquiries/situations promptly while maintaining a customer service orientation
- Ability to maintain composure under all types of situations
- Experience in Angular or ColdFusion frameworks and programming environments
- Experience with Microsoft Power Apps
- Apply programming skills to enhance system integration, data analysis, and real-time decision support within the PSCC environment.
