Overview:

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-5p), 40/hrs week

Job Description Summary:

Manages nursing staff and daily operations for assigned department. Collaborates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all program components including direct supervision of clinical staff, productivity, and personnel issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in the training and development of new and existing staff members, including performance appraisals.
  • Oversees nursing staff in documentation, staffing, clinical competencies. Serves as clinical expert for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills.
  • Assists in supervising daily clinical operations. Able to explain why clinical and financial management are important to the organization.
  • Engages in the workplace community by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings, then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
  • Maintains safety and quality as priorities, providing auditing and education for safety and quality initiatives.
  • Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, maintains a current Ohio Nursing License, and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinates functions with interdisciplinary team, including but not limited to physicians, payer contacts, and facility coding.

Education Requirement:

  • BSN, required.
  • MSN, preferred.

Licensure Requirement:

RN Licensure, required.

Certifications:

MCG certification required (UR) or CCDS required (CDI) or on track to obtain within 48 months of hire.

Skills:

  • Epic experience, preferred.
  • Microsoft 365 experience, required.

Experience:

  • 5 years of pediatric clinical experience, required.
  • 2 years of technical experience in CDI or UR, required.
  • Previous leadership experience, preferred.
