Overview
The Regional Nurse Manager is responsible for daily and strategic management of those branches within his/her designated region. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to nursing operations and education and competency, staffing, scheduling, labor costs, clinical care and quality assurance. The Regional Nurse Manager works in conjunction with the branch General Manager or Branch Manager.
Responsibilities
Ensures that nursing services are provided to patients in a professional and appropriate manner and in compliance with company policies and procedures, state and federal regulatory requirements and accepted clinical standards. Ensures that policies and procedures comply with all applicable regulatory requirements
- May require understanding of nursing regulations in more than one state, including ongoing updates and new regulations
- Oversees patient care coordination with the Pharmacy staff and with outside Nursing agencies as indicated
- Participates in the branch Quality Assurance program, assuring that local metrics include nursing quality improvement initiatives. Monitors quality improvement activities and compliance to policies and procedures with QA tools and regular audits
- Oversees hiring, competency development, continuing education, performance appraisal, supervision and discipline of nursing staff within the region
- Oversees coordination of activities of the nursing staff
- Provides safe and professional nursing care to infusion patients. Care includes patient education, direct patient care, ongoing clinical monitoring, care planning and care coordination
- Ensures 24/7 day availability of nursing care using on-call nurses after business hours. Oversees oncall schedule
- Supports sales staff in growing new business by accompanying them on sales calls to discuss clinical services and programs, contributes to the development of marketing tools and programs, marketing documentation, and clinical programs
- Develops and presents in-services to referrals sources
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Valid nursing license in state(s) of practice
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in nursing management
- Recent three five (3-5) years of experience in home infusion and home health
- Extensive experience in IV therapy
- Current CPR certification
- Flexible schedule with the availability to work on-call evenings, weekends and holidays on an asscheduled basis
- Ability to travel within the region as needed for nursing program support and supervisory responsibilities
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license and evidence of automobile insurance
