What to Expect
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Manager to support our development teams in the sourcing of Direct Supply Chain components and parts. These could include specific parts related to one of our vehicle platforms (Model S, Model X Model 3 Cybertruck and/or Model Y) and/or any other components on our Energy product's line, intrinsic to the successful running of the organization. The Supply Chain Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. This role will report to our Supply Chain Group Manager and in parallel be an active sourcing resource supporting our various Engineering groups within Tesla.
What You'll Do
- Own and manage the RFQs and strategic sourcing efforts for new programs, and lead timely development of programs while ensuring all commercial terms, capacity, contracts, agreements, and industrialization timelinesare agreed, met and documented
- Drive piece price and tooling negotiations to ensure that Tesla's pricing, process and quality expectations are met while driving continual cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives
- Address all areas of category management including category business plans, market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling and sourcing strategies
- Monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, analyze spend, and actively partner with the Design teams to identify and mitigate supply and demand challenges
- Identify the areas for process improvements and cost reductions, and pro-actively come up with strategies that could benefit the entire supply chain organization
- Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier's financial health, and periodic business reviews
- Lead cross-functional teams tomanage project timelines including developing and maintaining action trackers, Gantt charts and other program management tools required to track on-time delivery of parts to meet program timing
- Communicate key supply, cost, and/or quality issues with management teams, and develop corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Production Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or evidence of exceptional ability in these areas, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years industry experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, product development, supplier quality, operations/production management or engineering design
- Hands-on experience on manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, die- casting, extrusion, forging and stamping
- Ability to handle and analyze large data, identify patterns, and make logical inferences
- Strong attention to detail with an artistic eye for presenting data in a clean, organized and professionally formatted manner
- Experience with mechanical engineering concepts related to the commodity and ability to generate bottom-up should cost models based on the understanding of manufacturing process
- Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications, and have knowledge of manufacturing processes, process controls, and quality assurance, with excellent negotiation, presentation, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Expected Compensation
$101,280 - $189,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
