We are seeking a licensed and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in the Blackfoot/Idaho Falls region. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in preparing geotechnical reports, conducting slope stability (slide) analysis, and supporting civil and structural engineering projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of infrastructure and development projects across Idaho and the surrounding region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and oversee geotechnical investigations for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare detailed geotechnical reports including soil classification, foundation recommendations, and slope stability analysis.
  • Perform and interpret geotechnical testing including boring logs, laboratory results, and field data.
  • Conduct slope stability (slide) analyses and provide remediation recommendations as needed.
  • Provide geotechnical support for foundation design, retaining structures, earthwork, and pavement design.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, geologists, and construction teams to ensure practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Interface with clients and regulatory agencies to support project development and permitting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering and reporting.
  • Proficient with geotechnical software such as SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, gINT, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation systems, and slope stability methods.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Field experience with subsurface investigations and geotechnical instrumentation is a plus.
