Job Overview:

The TABC seeks to fill an Assistant Counsel position to focus on alcohol matters. This position will have responsibilities requiring interaction with many types of stakeholders, so a candidate that is responsive, approachable, and confident is ideal.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide counsel to director/commission members regarding licensure and regulatory matters. Assist in law enforcement investigations. Represent the agency in related contested case hearings. Other in-house counsel type legal matters including employment matters, contract review and responding to public records requests. Create written memoranda and advisory opinions regarding legal matters pending before the agency.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience Preferred Education and Experience: Active license to practice law in Tennessee or have pending admission to the Tennessee Bar. Prior experience is not required for this position.
