Hybrid Remote - periodic travel to Newark, DE

Must reside or be willing to relocate to TX, IL, NJ, OH, DE, MD, PA, VA, NC, GA, FL

Your role in our success:

The AVP, Business Applications develops and executes the Company's strategy for its operations & regulatory portfolio of applications such as gas and electric control, customer applications, operations services field logistics etc. Key responsibilities include creating application strategies and roadmaps, overseeing their implementation and ongoing operations, managing vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring adherence to governance and compliance standards, optimizing application performance, and leading application development and administration teams.

What you'll be working on:



  • Develops and executes a long-term roadmap for the company's operations and regulatory applications, ensuring they align with overall business goals for operational efficiency and customer experience
  • Identifies and leverages emerging technologies, such as cloud computing, automation, artificial intelligence (AI) and SaaS solutions, to drive innovation and replace legacy systems
  • Ensures all operations and regulatory systems meet strict security standards and regulatory requirements specific to the utility industry
  • Leads and manages a team of application specialists, developers, and support staff, fostering a culture of innovation, high performance and continuous improvement
  • Oversees the entire application lifecycle, from planning and development to implementation and ongoing maintenance for major IT initiatives
  • Develops and manages the budget for the enterprise applications department, ensuring cost-effective technology solutions and a strong return on investment (ROI)
  • Manages key vendors

Who you are:



  • Experience in deploying and supporting an industry leading utilities operations and regulatory applications
  • Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage projects through to successful completion
  • Ability to develop long-term strategies that align technology with business objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to effectively bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical business leaders
  • Ability to manage multiple small projects concurrently
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field
  • 15 years' experience managing an application portfolio
