DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patient Navigator Lead to support the continued growth and evolution of our Oncology Non-Clinical Patient Navigation program. This leadership role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, patient-centered initiative within a comprehensive cancer center. Building upon the success of the existing program, the Lead will play a central role in advancing patient navigation services by driving workflow standardization, enhancing team productivity, and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes knowledge sharing and excellence in care delivery.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Oncology Supportive Care, the Lead will develop and deliver training focused on culturally competent care and motivational interviewing, while supporting the refinement of navigation practices across disease teams. The Lead will work closely with a team of non-clinical Patient Navigators, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure consistent and proactive communication with patients and caregivers throughout their cancer journey. In partnership with the Manager, the Patient Navigator Lead will analyze data to inform decision-making and implement process improvements that support programmatic goals. The incumbent will also provide direct navigation services, demonstrating flexibility in coverage and serving as a trusted resource for patients, care teams, and community partners. This position requires a forward-thinking leader who embraces change, builds trust, and promotes accountability, while inspiring a shared commitment to excellence across the team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent healthcare experience/training.

  • Five (5) or more years of related healthcare experience.

  • Proven success in implementing and evaluating process improvements.

  • Demonstrated experience providing mentorship or guidance to peers or team members.

  • strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and patient navigation principles.

  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and resolve issues collaboratively.

  • Proficiency with Windows-based software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in patient navigation or community health support.

  • Understanding of oncology care delivery and supportive care needs.

  • Lean Six Sigma training or certification.

  • Working knowledge of EPIC.

  • Previous leadership experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Clinical licensure in a relevant healthcare discipline.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $65,800 - $115,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $31.51 - $55.08

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
