POSITION DESCRIPTION

A Facility General Manager at SET Environmental is responsible for:

Operational Management:



  • Oversee daily TSDF operations including waste acceptance, treatment, storage, and disposal
  • Ensure all facility operations comply with RCRA, EPA, OSHA, DOT, and state-specific environmental regulations
  • Implement and maintain operational procedures to ensure efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Monitor and manage waste inventories, treatment schedules, and facility throughput


Leadership & Personnel Management:



  • Lead, manage, and develop facility staff including operations supervisors, technicians, EHS personnel, and administrative staff
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance reviews
  • Promote a strong safety culture and team-based working environment


Financial & Strategic Management:



  • Manage facility budgets including operating expenses, capital improvements, and labor costs
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures
  • Participate in strategic planning to improve operations and expand services
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for operational efficiency and business growth


Compliance & Safety:



  • Work with Compliance Manager to ensure all required permits (air, water, waste) are up to date and adhered to
  • Oversee and enforce safety and environmental health programs and training
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary



POSITION REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in hazardous waste operations, including at least 5 years in a management role
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve desired results through others
  • Must have strong management, communication and motivational skills along with business and company development capabilities
  • Objective/critical thinking skills to create better systems and processes for customer relationship management and operational excellence within SET
  • Proven successful track record of managing/leading teams
  • Solid reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Proven self-starter, highly motivated, sets aggressive goals
  • Competent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and basic e-mail)
